Police: Milan, IN shooting suspect turns himself in


The suspect in a shooting at a Milan, Indiana bar turned himself into police Monday afternoon. 

Indiana State Police and Ripley County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of a shooting in Milan, Indiana that resulted in one man being transported to Cincinnati hospital with serious injuries. 

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as William A. Russell, 43. 

According to authorities, one person was shot at DJ's Bar in Milan as a result of a confrontation with another man.

The victim was transported to Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville before being taken to a Cincinnati area hospital for treatment. 

The extent of the victim's injuries are unknown at this time. 

Police said the suspect left the area prior to officers arriving on scene. 

He is reportedly 6'1'' and 185 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. 

He was considered to be armed and dangerous as the investigation went on, police said.
