FOX19 -

Virginia Tech announced that the Ohio State football team will be joining their players in honoring two journalists killed while on assignment in Roanoke last month.

When the teams face off Monday night they will be wearing helmet stickers that feature the number 7 honoring the channel of WDBJ.

Virginia Tech tweeted a photo of both team's helmets showcasing the stickers with the caption, "Buckeyes, Hokies both to honor WDBJ-7 victims by wearing special helmet stickers."

The stickers are of teal and maroon ribbons with the initials of Alison Parker and Adam Ward.

Teal was Parker's favorite color and maroon represents Ward who graduated from Virginia Tech in 2011.

"Thank you Ohio State & Coach Meyer for joining us in honoring Alison, Adam & all who miss them," said Coach Beamer in another tweet with an image of himself holding each helmet.
