MARIEMONT, OH (FOX19) -

A man was arrested after going into a Mariemont nursing home claiming to be possessed by the devil and resisted arrest Sunday, according to court documents.

Police say Adam Davis, of Norwood, entered the Mercy St. Theresa nursing home by unknown means after visitation hours and began yelling at the nursing staff saying "someone needs to stop me!"

Davis then entered the chapel and began saying that he was possessed by the devil and "evil would reign down upon them," according to the affidavit. He then knocked a few pictures off the wall and over turned a table in the chapel before being held down by male nurses until Mariemont Police arrived.

Once on scene, police say they attempted to secure Davis with handcuffs but he would not give them his hands and kept attempting to get up.

Police finally were able to secure his hands and was arrested.  Davis was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for possible treatment due to his actions and statements.

Officer believe Davis may have ingested a unknown type of narcotics or suffering from a medical condition, according to the affidavit.

Davis faces charges of inducing panic, criminal trespass and resisting arrest.
