Ohio Renaissance Festival kicks off

The annual Ohio Renaissance Festival has begun in Harveysburg.

The festival runs Saturdays and Sundays through October 25. The events start at 10:30 a.m. and end at 6 p.m.

What to expect: Visitors can enjoy full day of entertainment including full-armored jousting the way it was done over 400 years ago by knights in shining armor. Dozens of renaissance musicians, dancers, comedians, jugglers, sword-fighters, story tellers and hundreds of costumed performers entertain patrons in nearly 100 shows daily.

More than 140 artisans display wares in a  unique portion of the village. Demonstrations are also performed of glassblowing, jewelry making, leather crafting, stone carving and more.

Food & Drink: Vendors provide dozens of options for meals and snacks while inside the village. Giant turkey legs, steak-on-a-stake, stuffed spuds, dread bowl stews are a few of the options festival-goers can enjoy.

A Wall o' Cider features eight flavors of hard cider on draft along with a variety of ales at the Aleing Knight Pub. The festival also hosts wine tastings featuring varieties from Morrow, Ohio at the Jouster's Pub

Tickets: Tickets are $21.95 for adults and $9.95 for children ages 5 to 12. Children under 5 are free. Group discounts are available for parties of 15 or more.
