A piece of American history will dock at Riverboat Row Thursday as part of a sailing museum.
Replicas of Christopher Columbus' ships - the Nina and the Pinta - are stopping in Newport as they head up the Ohio River.
Tours of the ships will be available 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. through September 20.
Visitors will learn what life was like aboard a ship in the 15th century, about Columbus's many voyages, the mechanics of the ship, life aboard today and more.
The Nina was built completely by hand, without any power tools and has been called the most historically accurate replica ever built. Meanwhile, the Pinta was recently built in Brazil and is slightly larger than the original.
Ticket prices cost $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors, and $6.00 for children. Ages 4 and under are free.
