Police investigating motorcycle crash that killed Hebron couple


The Columbus Police Department is currently investigating a Labor Day motorcycle crash that claimed the lives of a Hebron, Kentucky Couple. 

CDP officers responded to the intersection of State Road 46 and Goeller Boulevard Monday around 4:50 p.m., stated reports. 

Police said Good Samaritans were on hand rendering aid to the injured couple. 

Officials identified the couple as Robert Porter, 53, and Vicky Porter, 53. 

According to reports, witnesses reported that the Porters were traveling east on State Road 46 on a 2002 Honda VTX1800 motorcycle when Sharon Brummett, 63,  turned in front of them in a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer. 

Witnesses advised officers that Brummett had been traveling west on State 46 before attempting to turn south on Goeller Boulevard, stated reports. 

Medical helicopters were requested by officers to the seriousness of the injuries suffered by the couple, said police. 

Both Robert and Vicky were flown separately to Methodist Hospital for continued treatment. 

Officials said they later died from their injuries. 

The incident remains under investigation by Columbus Police Department.
