COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

Two brothers are accused of breaking into one of their neighbor’s homes and purposely set it on fire earlier this week.

James Pearson, 42, and John Pearson, 46, burglarized a residence in the 900 block of Leonard Street, stole at least one television and then set it ablaze before fleeing just before 4 a.m. Monday, said Covington Police Lt. Dave Pennington.

Detectives were able to quickly link the siblings to the crime from surveillance video shot by another neighbor.

When authorities searched the brothers’ home, they recovered the television and found guns, Pennington said.

The duo was arrested Monday.

Each man is held in lieu of $100,000 bond at the Kenton County Jail. They face the same three charges: arson, burglary and possession a weapon while being a convicted felon.

The men briefly appeared before a Kenton County judge Tuesday and return to court Sept. 16.
