Police are crediting employees with providing information that led to the arrest of a suspect in last week's armed robbery at Smashburger, 4752 Cornell Rd.

Michael Jamal Byrd, 27, of Montgomery is accused of brandishing a black pistol while demanding money from employees inside the fast food restaurant on Aug. 31, court records show.

Several workers identified him as the gunman after they viewed surveillance video, Blue Ash police wrote in a sworn statement.

Employees described the suspect as wearing a Cincinnati Bengals hat during the offense.

One of the workers found a picture of Byrd wearing the same hat identified by employees in the robbery.
