The Cincinnati Bengals and star wide receiver A.J. Green have agreed to a contract extension, sources have confirmed to FOX19 NOW.
The Bengals and Green agreed to a 4-year extension worth $60 million, Rapport tweeted.
The extension has yet to be confirmed by the organization.
The extension comes the day the team leaves for Oakland to play the Raiders to kick-off the regular season. The Bengals and Green wanted to finalize the deal before the season opener.
Green, drafted fourth overall in the 2011 NFL Draft, will begin his fifth season with the Bengals on Sunday. His contract was due to expire at the end of the season. The Bengals would have had the option to put the Franchise Tag on Green next season.
The four-time Pro Bowl participant has averaged 82 receptions for 1,218 receiving yards and close to nine touchdowns a season.
