Rob Williams: A good Sunday with a new boss and the Bengals

I have a new boss at FOX19 NOW and he invited me to the Bengals games Sunday. Of course,  I said yes.

I would be watching the Bengals home opener against the San Diego Chargers from the comfort of the station's suite. Plus, I'm really excited about the team this season.

Upon arriving at Paul Brown Stadium, fans could pick up a Stand Up to Cancer sign. We were encouraged to write a name and hold it up together before the game. I wrote "Tiffany Danyluk," a very good friend. She's 28 and a large cancerous mass removed. She strong and handling it like a champ, but I wanted her to know I support her. Very meaningful start to the game, which was exciting start to finish.

Andy Dalton looked good. No interceptions and key connections with A.J Green, Marvin Jones, and Tyler Eifert. The running game was more than solid with Gio Bernard. Crowd roared and responded when the defense looked for support from its "12th man."

They were able hold the Chargers to just 36 percent on 3rd down conversions. However, I'm a Bengals fans so I pretty much hold my breath until there’s no time left on the clock.

Bengals win 24 - 19.

It was a good day. Now if next Sunday could be a good day in Baltimore. They did lose to Oakland, after all - a team the Bengals beat in week one.
