EVANSTON, OH (FOX19) -

A man was arrested early Monday morning in connection to a shooting that hurt five people - four men and a 3-year-old boy - last month.

Tayron Cockrell, 24, was arrested and faces five felonious assault charges. He is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $500,00 bond.

Cockrell will appear in court on Oct. 14.

The shooting took place on Fairfield Avenue near Hewitt Avenue about 8:30 p.m. Sept. 28, police said.

Four men - three who are 30 and a fourth who is 43 - were taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, said Lt. Tim Brown, the night chief.

The toddler was taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

A motive in the incident was not released.

"I don't know any other way to describe it. It's a senseless act," said Interim Police Chief Eliot Isaac.

No word on where Cockrell was arrested or what led up to his arrest.
