MASON, OH (FOX19) -

A Mason High School student crushed the United States national record for solving a 3x3 Rubik's Cube - blindfolded.

Junior Sreeram Venkatarao only took 26.07 seconds to solve the Rubik's Cube, according to a release. It was a second faster than the previous national record.

That 26.07 seconds includes the time he took to memorize the puzzle before putting on the blindfold.

Sreeram says he doesn’t have a photographic memory but does memorize cube puzzles and understands the mathematics behind how they work.
