BUTLER COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

The man accused of killing Barbara Howe,86, plans to plead guilty to all but one of the charges - capital murder.

French, 56, who worked at the Monroe retirement facility where 86-year-old Barbara Howe resided, was arrested and charged in December with aggravated murder.

Prosecutors said they expect guilty pleas on aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence in court Wednesday.

Prosecutors produced a confession tape where French said he only intended to rob Howe, but when he realized he'd killed her, he panicked and stuffed her body in the trunk of her car, leaving it in a Middletown parking lot.

"I was trying to choke her out. I didn't mean to kill her. TV makes it look so G***** easy," French said to investigators.

French will stand trial October 19 on the aggravated murder charge in the death of Howe.
