13-year-old student charged after bringing pellet gun to school

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -

A junior high school student in the Hamilton City School District has been charged after bringing a pellet gun to school and shooting at students, according to the Hamilton Police Department. 

The 13-year-old Garfield Junior High student allegedly shot plastic pellets at several students on Thursday, Hamilton Police said. 

Hamilton detectives have charged the juvenile with Inducing Panic and three counts of Assault, all misdemeanors. The student will be charged in the Juvenile Court.

Police and the school district announced a program will be presented in the coming days to reinforce to students the consequences of their actions.
