Goshen man killed in fall at Red River Gorge

A hiker died Saturday night after falling from an overlook at the Red River Gorge. 

The Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team said they responded to reports of a hiker falling from Chimney Top Rock after crossing the railing. 

The victim was identified by the Wolfe County Coroner as Michael Hacker, 30, of Goshen, Ohio.

According to Wolfe County Search and Rescue, a nurse, who was camping below Chimney Top, was able to confirm a fatality prior to the team arriving on scene. 

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the subject's friends and family," read a post on the Wolfe County Search and Rescue's Facebook page
