BROWN COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

One person died and two others were hurt in a two-vehicle crash in the area of U.S. 68 and Ohio 123 Monday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Brown County dispatchers.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a preliminary investigation reveals that a 2007 Kia Sorento, being operated by Brittany Turner, 22, of Alabama, was traveling eastbound on SR 123 when she struck a 1998 Honda Accord, being driven by Tiffany Beckelhymer, 32, of Batavia.  Beckelhymer was traveling northbound on U.S. 68, when Turner failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the Honda Accord, police said.

Turner pronounced dead shortly after the accident was reported about 8:20 a.m., according to the patrol's Georgetown post. Her rear passenger, 6-month-old Laikin Turner, was not injured.

AirCare responded and flew Beckelhymer to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Brown County dispatchers said.

Neither Turner or Beckelhymer were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, according to officials.  The child was secured in a child safety seat.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, police said.
