An art exhibit opening today at Syracuse University is featuring the portraits of 14-hundred-83 soldiers killed in Iraq. A professor there says the display is "not about the war or politics." He says, "It's about these people who have given their lives."
The exhibit expands on one last year that included the portraits of a little more than eleven-hundred fallen soldiers. The new pictures were created by students, faculty and staff members at Syracuse as well as local artists. One student who worked on the project says "it was a privilege to participate." The exhibit runs through April. Afterward, the university plans on sending the portraits to the soldiers' families.
