QUEENSGATE, OH (FOX19) -

A SWAT situation in a Queensgate hotel is over after a man appeared to take his own life, according to Cincinnati Police Sergeant, Donna Hurst.

Crews were called to Guest Inn and Suites on West 8th Street and Linn St. around 3 p.m. Thursday.

Shots were fired inside the hotel on the sixth floor of the building, according to Cincinnati Public Information Officer, Tiffaney Hardy. SWAT was called after an occupant on the sixth floor did not answer the door, according to police on scene.

Sgt. Hurst said police located a male approximately in his 40s with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No one else was in the room, according to Hurst.

A FOX19 NOW crew at the scene says at least 20 police cars are in the area at the time of the incident.
