CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A murder suspect faced a judge Friday and was ordered to be held without bond.

Akihiko Clayton was transferred to the Hamilton County jail from the Kenton County Detention Center Thursday after Kenton County prosecutors dropped robbery charges to move his trial forward in Ohio.

Clayton is held without bond on a total of 16 charges in Hamilton County: two counts of aggravated murder, four counts of attempted murder, eight counts of felonious assault and one count each of aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary, court records show.

On July 2, Springdale police say Clayton forced entry into an apartment at 1108 Chesterdale Circle at the Willows of Springdale.

He stabbed Emilio Ramirez, 33, multiple times, killing him, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters said, before turning the knife on four children in the home; twin 2-year-old girls, a 7-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy.

If convicted on all charges, Clayton could face the death penalty.
