Arson investigators probe Westwood fire

Cincinnati arson investigators are looking into the cause of a small fire in a multi-family building in the 3300 block of McHenry Avenue early Friday, fire officials said.

Fire companies were in the area on an emergency medical run run when someone came running down and alerted them to the fire about 1:30 a.m., said Acting Cincinnati District 3 Fire Chief Ken LeMaster.

Crews found light smoke from the front door and were able to contain the blaze to a mattress in a first floor bedroom, he said.

All residents in the two-story, four-unit building made it out safely, he said.

No one was hurt.

The fire was contained to one unit.

All residents were permitted back inside.

Damage was set at $500.
