CINCINNATI (FOX19) -

Two motorcyclists were killed in separate crashes Friday afternoon.

The first accident happened around 1 p.m. on the I-471 South ramp from eastbound Fort Washington way. The motorcyclist crashed into a wall and was thrown from his bike from the interstate ramp, according to Cincinnati Police.

Cincinnati Police say Matthew L. Andrews, 23, died in that crash.  He was wearing a helmet while riding a 2013 Harley Davidson, and died on scene.

Police said the bike stayed on the ramp and Matthews was thrown over the wall into a parking lot 50 feet below.

A second biker died after hitting a fire hydrant on Spring Grove Avenue near Dooley Bypass just before 3 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Police say Lisley P. Craig, 43, died at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center after that accident.  According to police, Craig was not wearing a helmet when he crashed his 2004 Honda motorcycle.

Officers say a dog ran in front of him, causing the bike to swerve and crash. Police say he was thrown from the motorcycle.

"Any time a motorcycle is involved, we do expect the injuries to be a little more severe,” said Lt. Bruce Hoffbauer with the Cincinnati Police Department.

Police do not believe impairment to be a factor in either accident.
