Police find armed robbery suspect in trunk of getaway vehicle

WARREN COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

A man was arrested Friday after being found in the trunk of a vehicle following a bank robbery. 

Deputies responded to reports of a robbery at the Chase Bank, located at 3965 West U.S. 22 in Deerfield Township Friday around 3:30, dispatch confirmed. 

According to bank employees and witnesses, Liston Watson, 33, entered the bank wearing a dark hoodie and a gladiator-style Halloween mask. 

He displayed a weapon he was carrying in a blue or purple backpack and demanded money from a teller, showed reports. 

Police said Watson took the cash and fled across West U.S. 22, where he got into an older, silver Lexus and drove away. According to police, a deputy spotted the vehicle in the back overflow lot of Performance Lexus in the Kings Automall.  

Police said as detectives processed the vehicle for evidence, they found Watson hiding in the trunk. 

During the arrest, detectives reportedly recovered a loaded firearm, a large amount of cash and the mask and backpack used during the robbery. 

According to authorities, Watson is currently being held in the Warren County Jail on one count of aggravated robbery. He is also wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in connection with other robberies.
