A woman is recovering after she was shot in the hand after a roadside dispute in Clermont County, according to Clermont County Sheriff, A. J. Rodenburg.

Police were called to Clermont Mercy Hospital after the woman said she was shot in the hand on the exit ramp of State Route 32 at Olivebranch Stonelick Road.

According to Sheriff Rodenburg, the victim told police she followed a male subject in her vehicle that she believed stole a firearm from her residence in Sardinia. The victim told police that her and the male subject, who police are identifying as Christopher Turner, argued over the ownership of the gun. A struggle over the gun began and police say one round was discharged.

The woman was transported from Clermont Mercy Hospital to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, according to officials.

Turner is charged with improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a felony. He is due in court on Oct. 19.
