Police Reject Contract

Cincinnati police overwhelmingly reject contract

Cincinnati cops are calling the city's latest contract offer "a bunch of garbage." The Fraternal Order of Police rejected the proposal this week by a vote of 938 to one. The contract would have given the officers smaller pay raises than they got two years ago and made their benefits more expensive. Union officials say the officers turned out in record numbers for the vote, with more than 90 percent of the force casting ballots. Starting salary for a Cincinnati cop is about 42-thousand dollars.
