A man and a dog escaped a house fire early Friday, fire officials said.

When they arrived, they found the house fully engulfed and a man and his dog already out.

Crews brought the fire was under control shortly after.

There was no immediate word on the cause, but fire officials said it was an accident that began in the kitchen.
