WHITEWATER TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

A Whitewater Township man was cited Saturday after losing control of his vehicle containing two other adults and eight children.

According to Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil, Selvin Gomez, 37, was driving a Ford Econoline Clubwagon van on the ramp from northbound I-275 to westbound I-74 when he lost control of the vehicle and flipped the car to its side in a ditch off the roadway.

Police said two other adults, Xiomara Urrutia, 38, and Mirna Gomez, 30, along with eight children ranging from 5 months old to 15 years old were also inside the van at the time of the crash.

Reports showed that crews responded to the scene as a precautionary measure to evaluate the children at the parent's request.

None of the occupants reported injuries.

Alcohol, drugs and speed are not believed to have contributed to the accident, reported officials.

Police said Gomez was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control and driving with an expired driver's license.
