READING, OH (FOX19) -

The suspect in a weekend SWAT standoff is scheduled to face a judge Monday.

Thomas Ross, 23, is held without bond at the Hamilton County jail on charges of inducing panic and domestic violence.

According to court records, he refused to leave a residence in the 1300 block of Market Street about 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

He allegedly threatened to harm his ex-girlfriend, who also is the mother of his child, by using a knife, Reading police said. Ross made suicidal comments, including that he wanted police to kill him.

Officers tried to convince him to voluntarily go to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, but police said he refused to answer the door. He made threats that he had a gun and the only way he would come out was "in a body bag," records state.

Police shut down public roads in the area and called up the Hamilton County Police Association SWAT team.

SWAT officers coaxed Ross to surrender without further incident, authorities said.
