With the remnants of Hurricane Patricia headed towards the Tri-State, FOX19 NOW meteorologists are calling for 2 to 3 inches of rain for most areas Tuesday and Wednesday.

Some isolated areas could approach 4 inches.

The rain could create some dangerous driving conditions with leaves on the road. Wet leaves get extremely slippery, and create a similar situation to ice.

Leaves are dangerous because they can reduce the car's traction and can cause skidding and the possibility of losing control of the vehicle.

Also, wet leaves often cover the painted road markings and make it difficult to know the locations of the lanes.

The best advice to avoid trouble is to treat the wet, leaf covered roads just like you would driving on ice.

Slow down, and give yourself plenty of room to stop.
