A man died after being struck by a vehicle Monday evening.
The Hamilton County sheriff's office reported that the fatal crash happened in the 4600 block of East Miami River Road around 6:18 p.m. Monday.
Police said Robert Oliver, 39, was driving a 1994 Ford F-25 though a right curve in the roadway and began to traverse an incline.
That is when he struck pedestrian Joseph Mundy, 33, according to officials. He was pushing a bicycle up the incline in the northbound lane of East Miami River Road.
Mundy was reportedly transported to Good Sam Western Ridge, where he died of his injuries.
Mundy was not utilizing any safety equipment at the time of the crash, said police. Oliver was said to be wearing a safety restraint device.
Investigators said alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash.
