Police chase ends in crash on SB I-75

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

An overnight police chase that resulted in a crash on southbound Interstate 75 ended in an arrest early Wednesday, Cincinnati police said.

Officers began chasing a motorist behind the wheel of a reported stolen vehicle on Paddock Road at I-75 at 1:17 a.m., said Lt. John Cordova.

The driver fled onto southbound I-75 at the Norwood Lateral, where a construction crew had the southbound lanes reduced to one as they continued with an ongoing construction project in the area, Cordova said.

The fleeing vehicle crashed just south of the Lateral, and the driver bailed and ran off, he said.

Police pursued him on foot and called a K-9 to respond.

The suspect was apprehended a short while later on Spring Grove Avenue.

His name and charges were not immediately available.
