GREEN TOWNSHIP, HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19) – -

Westbound Interstate 74 is back open at Harrison Avenue after a serious-injury crash closed it for several hours Wednesday morning, police said.

Crews responded just after 4 a.m. when the male driver of westbound vehicle lost control, police said.

The vehicle flipped several times, caught on fire and was fully engulfed at one point.

The driver was ejected and has critical injuries, according to police. Two other occupants managed to crawl out prior to the vehicle catching fire.

Two of the occupants were transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where one is listed in critical condition, while the other is in serious condition a dispatcher said

A third person initially walked away from the scene but was located by officers and was transported to UCMC, police said..

Their names and ages were not released.

Police say speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
