COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

The Covington Police Department is concluding a 6-month long investigation into drug trafficking in Covington.

Officials say narcotics officers purchased heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana from 32 different individuals across Covington.

Several individuals were arrested Wednesday who have criminal histories including, murder and felonious assault.

Seven individuals were arrested for controlled substance offenses after a search warrant was executed in the 2100 block of Howell St. Tuesday.

Commonwealth Attorney Rob Sanders says this is the first round up, where the new portion of the Kentucky Heroin bill is being used, which carries tougher sentences.
