EAST PRICE HILL (FOX19) -

The daughter of a man found dead in his apartment Sunday faces an aggravated murder charge, Cincinnati police said.

Shevelle Richards, 36, who also is listed in court records as Chevelle Richards, briefly appeared before a judge Monday morning on accusations she killed her father, Johnny Richards, 63.

She is held on $500,000 bond at the Hamilton County jail.

Cincinnati police said they arrested her Sunday, hours after her father's body was found at 7 a.m. when they conducted a welfare check at the request of a family member who had not seen him in several days.

Police said officers and fire officials found his body inside an apartment in the 3400 block of West 8th Street.

The cause of death was not released pending autopsy by the Hamilton County Coroner's Office, police said.

The case has been ruled an apparent homicide, a coroner's report shows.
