NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) - Police said a woman could face upgraded criminal charges in an alleged 2014 stabbing now that the victim has died.
Maurice Mundy, 60, died Sunday, according to a report from the Hamilton County Coroner's Office. The death was ruled an apparent homicide.
Melissa Morgan, 27, is scheduled to go on trial Dec. 1 on two counts of felonious assault in the Oct. 21, 2014 incident. Court records show she allegedly used an 8-inch blade to stab him in the neck at Hunter Park, 5449 Hunter Ave.
Morgan was an acquaintance of the victim and stayed on scene until officers arrived, said Lt. Ron Murphy.
Mundy never recovered from the stabbing and has been undergoing medical care at various hospitals, Murphy said.
Morgan is held on $100,000 bond at the Hamilton County jail.
