A middle school student faces school disciplinary charges and felony charges after being caught making a bomb threat inside a boys bathroom Monday, Mason City School officials said.
The 14-year-old Mason Middle School student was caught writing, “bomb the school on 11/12/15,” inside a boys bathroom stall, according to a release sent by the school.
Police believe the student was acting alone and believe school safety is not compromised.
The student was taken to Warren County Juvenile Detention Center, where he is currently being held, Mason police said. He faces school disciplinary charges and a felony charge of inducing panic.
The boy's name was not released.
School administrators said they are proud of other students for stepping up and saying something to a teacher.
