The Xavier and Mount St. Joseph women's basketball teams will kick off their seasons on Saturday at the first ever Lauren Hill Tipoff Classic.
Hill played for Mount St. Joseph despite battling DIPG, an inoperable brain tumor.
She hit the court for her first collegiate game last season against Hiram College, in front of a sold out crowd at Cintas Center. The game was nationally televised.
Hill made a memorable layup during the game that has since been turned into a bobble head. Five thousand fans will receive the bobble head at this weekend's games.
Xavier kicks off its season at 1 p.m. against Evansville. Once that game concludes, 30 minutes later Mount St. Joseph will take on Hiram.
All proceeds from tickets are going towards “The Cure Starts Now", a non-profit dedicated at finding a cure for cancer.
Tickets to the Lauren Hill Tipoff Classic are still available for $10 a seat.
If you can’t make it to the games, but want to get involved FOX19 NOW will take part in the "2.2M for 22 in 22" Telethon.
Lauren’s goal was to raise $2.2 million for cancer research funding.
The telethon will run through Friday night, starting 22 hours before tipoff for the Lauren Hill Classic.
