CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Billy Joel will perform at the U.S. Bank Arena in the spring of 2016, sources confirmed Wednesday to FOX19 NOW.
City leaders confirmed the April 5 concert at a press conference Thursday. It is Joel's only scheduled concert in the state of Ohio for 2016.
Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. They can be purchased online, at the box office or by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000.
On Wednesday, the arena announced that Justin Bieber will be performing in June.
The U.S. Bank Arena is due for some upgrades and officials unveiled renovation plans earlier this year. Renovations for the 40-year-old building are expected to cost around $250 million and have made little progress since they were announced.
"It's a process we unveiled over vision at that point in time," said U.S. Bank Arena Marketing Director Shawn Lynn. "It's going to take some time and some work to get all these things in line and things done."
Without the renovation, Cincinnati continues to lose out on events like the Republican National Convention and the cash that comes with it.
"Ownership group is working very, very hard to work with the people in this city to see what we can do to make this a reality," said Lynn.
