Victim's family speaks out after Clermont Co. grand jury indicts man for sex crimes

CLERMONT COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - A Clermont County grand jury indicted a Union Township man for multiple sex crime charges on Nov. 5.

Brett Davis, 40, was indicted on seven counts of gross sexual imposition, six counts of gross sexual imposition, five counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, and five counts of sexual battery, all felony counts according to Clermont County assistant prosecuting attorney Scott O'Reilly.

The counts deal with sexual activity that allegedly took place between Davis and at least children who spent the night at his residence on Forest Trail dating back to 2008, O'Reilly said.

"One of my kids broke down crying and told me what had happened even though it had been awhile ago," one of the victim's mothers told FOX19 NOW.  "I guess its just been a burden that he's been carrying on his shoulders."

The mother said her son was in the fourth grade when the alleged assaults began. Prosecutors said the three juvenile victims are all now teenagers. The victim's mother said she couldn't believe that a sex offender could live so close to her house.

"I never dreamed that it would be somebody that I'm sending my kids to their house," she said.

Each felony of the third degree carries a potential five years in prison, and up to a $10,000 fine. The felonies of the fourth degree carry a potential 18 months in prison, and up to a $5000 fine.

If convicted, Davis would be labeled a tier III sex offender requiring registration for life, according to O'Reilly.

Anyone else who had contact with Davis is encouraged to contact the Union Township Police Department at (513) 752-1230.
