Services will take place Thursday for the southeastern Indiana firefighter who was killed in an off-duty crash last week.

Visitation for Jason Richardson, 39, of Aurora, will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Aurora Fire Department, 5950 Dutch Hollow Rd., Aurora.

Funeral services will follow at the fire department at 2 p.m. Pastor Pete Bryk will officiate.

Richardson was a member of the Aurora and Lawrenceburg Volunteer Fire Department since 2008, according to Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements.

He also worked as a fork lift driver for Beckman & Culture in Florence. He had a gun collection, enjoyed cars and was the founder and president of the New Age Creations Car Club.

Richardson died Saturday when a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado  struck a 2005 Ford Taurus and then went on to hit his 2007 Ford Crown Victoria on Woodspointe Drive in Florence, police have said.

Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Marquea Schwing, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital.

The driver of the Chevrolet, William Stanton, 47, was arrested on charges of criminal mischief, assault and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance.

Richardson leaves behind a daughter, parents, siblings, and a girlfriend and her son, according to the funeral home.

He will be buried in Napoleon, Indiana.

Contributions may be made to the Aurora Fire Department. To donate, call the funeral home office at 812 926-1450, and they will notify the family with a card.
