Traffic pattern changes SB I-75 and Hopple

CAMP WASHINGTON, OH (FOX19) -

Drivers who travel southbound Interstate 75 will notice a new traffic pattern around the Hopple Street exit.

The Ohio Department of Transportation is implementing a traffic switch that will consist of placing three lanes of southbound I-75 traffic on the west side of I-75 between the I-74 and Harrison Avenue interchanges.

One lane of southbound I-75 traffic will remain in a contraflow position on northbound I-75 between I-74 and Harrison.

Northbound I-75 traffic will not be affected and will remain unchanged.

As part of that work crews will be closing ramps and lanes in the area.

The ramp from southbound I-75 to Hopple Street will shut down at 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday.

The ramps from Hopple Street to southbound I-75 and from southbound I-75 to Harrison Avenue will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday.

A single lane closure on southbound I-75 will be in place beginning at 8 p.m., followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. with all lanes reopened to traffic by 2 p.m. Saturday.

A rolling closure on southbound I-75, beginning at approximately 8 a.m. Saturday.

ODOT officials plan to warn drivers of the changes with arrow boards and signs, but they say drivers should slow down and watch for stopped traffic while work is underway.
