CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Ohio’s roads are about to get a lot more crowded.

AAA projects nearly 2 million Ohioans will travel this Thanksgiving with the vast majority going by car.

Cheryl Parker, spokeswoman for AAA's Cincinnati office, said 1.7 million people are expected to hit the roads, a 1.1 percent increase over 2014.

To stay safe, AAA suggests using your headlights even in daylight driving, slow down and buckle up. Even a low-speed collision can result in injuries.

Make sure that everyone is strapped in a seat belt or child safety seat while the vehicle is in motion, even if it is just a short trip to another part of the parking lot.
