WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

Shots were fired in the vicinity of Cincinnati Police officers during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were performing a routine traffic stop when they reportedly heard six to eight gunshots ring out on Westwood Northern Boulevard near Gobel Avenue around 2 p.m., according to police dispatch. No one was hit.

"Obviously that was very concerning for officers you had so many rounds fired in such a succession and such close proximity to all of those people who were on scene of that incident," said Cincinnati Police Capt. Michael John.

The roadway was shut down as police search for suspects.

The driver of the vehicle that was pulled over was arrested on an unrelated charge, police said.
