BETHEL, OH (FOX19) -

A Clermont County judge issued a $1.5 million bond for a man indicted in an October incident where he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman after breaking into her house in Bethel.

A grand jury indicted David Ford, 38, Thursday for three counts of rape, one count kidnapping, one count of aggravated assault and one count of felonious assault. All six are felony charges.

Clermont County officials arrested Ford Saturday.

On Oct. 13, Ford allegedly broke into the victim's home on Angel Dr., breaking the victim's nose and sexually assaulting her, according to the Clermont County Sheriff's Office. Officials said Ford fled after a neighbor entered the victim's house.

"He knew where she lived," said Clermont County Assistant Prosecutor, Scott O'Reilly. "She went into her apartment and tried to get some items from inside and then after she exited the restroom and came out, he came upon her."

The Clermont County Sheriff's Office released an alert for an active warrant Friday for Ford's arrest. He was arrested in Crittenten, Kentucky on Sunday,

According to police, Ford is registered as a sex offender in Franklin County, Ohio. He has prior convictions in Ohio for kidnapping, attempted rape and failure to register as a sex offender, according to the Clermont County Sheriff's Office.

"Personally, I don't think they should've ever let him out. The system failed," said O'Reilly.

Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Clermont County Sheriff's Office at 513-732-7510 or your local police department.
