CINCINNATI (FOX19) -

Ohio and Kentucky motorists are seeing some of the lowest gas prices in the country.

Both states made auto club AAA’s top ten list for least expensive average gas prices. The Ohio average Monday was 1.82, the same average price that drivers are paying in greater Cincinnati. The Kentucky average is 1.86. The average in Covington is 1.99, AAA reports.

The national average for regular fuel was slightly higher at about $2.04 on Monday. That’s down 3 cents from last week. At this time last year, it was around $2.78.

Michigan has the lowest statewide average, with a gallon costing drivers $1.81.

AAA reps credit oversupply and a strengthening U.S. dollar in keeping downward pressure on the price of crude oil.
