Ohio school districts named best in the nation

Ohio has some of the best schools in the nation, according to a recent online ranking.

Niche.com, a company that researches and compiles data on schools, ranked Indian Hill School District the ninth best in the country.

Several other local schools made the top 100 list:

#9: Indian Hill School District

#42: Wyoming City School District

#66: Sycamore Community City School District

#79: Mason City School District

#93: Mariemont City School District

Niche also listed the best districts in each state using statistics, student and parent reviews and expert insights,

In Kentucky, Forth Thomas Independent Schools was named number one, with Beechwood coming in second.

Here is how Niche explains their ranking process:

"This grade takes into account key factors such as the strength of academics, quality of teachers, school resources, the quality of student life, as well as student and parent reviews, in an attempt to measure the overall excellence of the district."

The company says more than 12,000 schools were surveyed.
