Air Care was called after a car driven by a Clermont County commissioner was struck by a detached semi-trailer Thursday afternoon, Ohio State Highway Patrol confirms.
Edwin Humphrey, 71, was traveling northbound in his Lincoln Towncar on S.R. 126 when a Kenworth semi-truck hauling a trailer with a dumpster loaded with construction debris became detached striking Humphrey's vehicle, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Police say Humphrey was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The severity of his injuries are unknown at this time.
Investigators say alcohol is not suspected in the crash and seatbelts were used.
The accident remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
