Deshawn Jenkins in court Friday (FOX19 NOW/Mike Woeste)
OVER-THE-RHINE, OH (FOX19 NOW) -
A high bond was set for an Over-The-Rhine man accused of robbing and shooting a man in the testicles Thursday.
Deshawn Jenkins, 18, allegedly ordered Joseph Bazel to hand over his money, according to a complaint. Jenkins then is accused of shooting Bazel in the testicles and taking $300 before fleeing from the scene, the complaint said.
Jenkins faces counts of aggravated robbery, felonious assault and having weapons while under disability.
Judge Melisa Powers set a $1.5 million straight bond for Jenkins Friday.
“The high bonds were warranted and the level of violence and the risk to others in the community," said Powers. "As a judge I feel very strongly about making sure that members of the community are protected.”
