Investigators are piecing together the details of an early morning fatal house fire in Bright, Indiana that took the lives of two people.
According to emergency crews, the fire broke out at 3:54 a.m. on Maple Ridge Dr. near Brightwood Dr.
Susan Vogel, 57, was found dead inside the residence, according to the Harrison City Fire Department.
A report conducted by the Hamilton County Coroner's Office revealed that she died of smoke inhalation.
Bettye Klumb, 81, was taken from the scene to UC Medical Center and then transferred to a burn unit in Columbus, said officials.
According to authorities, she was pronounced dead at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The coroner said she was able to get out of the house, but nearly 70 percent of her body was burned.
Reports showed that Ronald Klumb was treated and released from Dearborn Hospital.
