Top moments in Shootout history

The Crosstown Shootout has experienced its fair-share of memorable moments. The Shootout has gripped the Tri-State in ways that no other basketball game could. The game was first played all the way back in 1927.

We have picked our six favorite moments and NOW it's up to you to pick the best moment in Shootout history!

  1. The highest scoring game in Shootout history. Danny Fortson dropped a career-high 40 points as the Bearcats defeated the Musketeers 99-90.
  2. Lenny Brown's game-winning buzzer-beater to upset the #1 Bearcats in 1996.
  3. The first ever Crosstown Shootout in Cintas Center. Steve Logan scored 22 points en route to a 20 point win over David West and the Musketeers.
  4. Xavier again upset #1 UC in 1999. Kevin Frey's running lay-up sealed the win for the Muskies.
  5. Mick Cronin inherited a roster with just one scholarship but is able to defeat a Xavier team that made the tournament and nearly knocked-off #1 Ohio State.
  6. A struggling Xavier team upset #10 UC after Lionel Chalmers hit a step-back jumper over Eric Hicks in the final minute. The win would catapult Xavier for the rest of the season. The Musketeers went on to reach the Elite Eight for the first time in school history.
