CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A new round of testing for the Cincinnati streetcar project is underway Monday morning.

Tests that began at 9:30 a.m. mark the first time two cars will be placed on the tracks.

Brief rolling closures will occur along the route near The Banks, and further north on Main Street between Central Parkway and Court Street.

Motorists should expect periodic delays.

A police escort will manage the streetcars as they travel the route, a 3.6-mile loop.

Streetcar testing has been going on for several weeks.

In preparation for Monday's testing, crews conducted short circuit tests Sunday at each of the four power substations.

The streetcar is expected to be fully operational in September.
